ChannelCRM is build using the Microsoft .Net framework. The user will access the system using a Smart Client (formerly known as Fat Client) or a web-browser. In any case the data will reside in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 eller 2008.

Data Server
The data server is Microsoft SQL Server 2005 eller Microsoft SQL Server 2008. In any case you can use the Express Edition - if you accept the limitations imposed by this. (For your information the limitations are 1 cpu, 1 GigaByte memory and 4 GigaByta data. It is - however - your responsibility to ensure that you use this Microsoft product in accordance with the EULA)
Using the Smart Client access can be governed by either SQL Server Security (userid and password) or Windows Security.
Access rights within the database is handled using roles and schemas and as such very flexible.
Smart Client
The Smart Client is developed using Microsoft .Net Framework and as such this framework in version 2 or higher has to be installed. The data connections is using cached mode and extremely robust.
Installing the Smart Client is by Windows Installer (msi-package) and normally a 30 second job. Upgrades (to add new functionality) is done by running the Windows Installer again.
WebServer (from april 2009)
Using ChannelCRM as a browser based application requires an application on your web-server. The web-server has to be Microsoft IIS.
The web-server application is a .Net application and as such requires .Net Framework version 2.0 or higher.
Installation of the web-server application is done by Windows Installer (msi-package) and normally a 5 minute job.
Other configurations
ChannelCRM Smart Client will work in Windows Terminal Services og Citrix as well.
